September is always a milestone – the end of summer (sigh) but yet full of promise as, for me at least, it will forever be associated with the start of a school year. Yes, even though I left full-time education a good decade ago (ahem, OK, it may be a teeny bit more than a decade), I’ve never quite shaken off the new-pencil-case-promise of this month. And now, with my daughter poised to start her reception year, I’ve been transported back there all over again.
Schools aside, September is a significant milestone in the bridal and fashion industries too. The end of a wedding season and the start of Fashion Week, as the calendar page turns, our thoughts are always on the next big thing. That’s why it’s become our custom to dedicate our September/October issue to the latest bridal looks. And this number is no exception – turn to page 71 to start browsing an incredible 20 pages of big-day dresses and accessories.

Marina and Anthony completed a veritable wedding marathon on their big day with not one, not two but three venues.
Marina Boor, 31, married Anthony Jaggs, 28, at Islington Town Hall followed by a wedding breakfast at The Empress and an evening reception at The Crown on 6th April, 2018.

Tower Bridge
Arguably the most famous and recognisable bridge in the world, Tower Bridge is an engineering marvel built over 120 years ago to ease traffic in the capital. It’s also the only bridge in the world you can host an event on. Talk about an original space!
Old-meets-new in this unusual venue, with walkways equipped with cutting edge lighting and glass flooring, contrasting with the Victorian steam engines on show in the depths of the tower. Tie the knot in the North Tower Lounge, a private space on the third floor which can accommodate 40 people. The Walkways are also available for evening ceremonies after the exhibition closes, or make for a spectacular reception venue for up to 70 seated guests or 120 loved ones for an informal do.
It goes without saying that the views from the Tower are breathtaking, with all of London laid out before you.
