AWARD NOMINATION A fitness coach from London, who founded a project based on the legacy left by the 2012 London Olympics, has been nominated for a 2021 National Lottery Award. Born Barikor has been shortlisted in the Sport category for his outstanding work with the project he founded in 2014 called Our Parks which is aimed at providing everyone in the UK with free access to high quality exercise and coaching from top trainers. The former high jumper realised the opportunities he’d had to turn his life around through sport weren’t available to all, so he decided to do something about it. His aspiration and that of Our Parks, was to create a fitter community through the utilisation of facilities at local parks through a council funded initiative. Our Parks allows boroughs to provide coached exercise classes, free of charge for the community within a green surrounding. This year the initiative hit 200,000 users. And what better time to follow the crowd and prioritise your health and fitness than in the run up to your wedding day? Check out https://ourparks.org.uk BOTTOMS UP!
