Oh isn’t this time of year just magical? I know, I know, I say that with every new season. The truth is that I love them all – and that’s why we’re celebrating seasonal style in our venue décor special this issue. Turn to page 69 and see if you can decide on a favourite. Of course, before you get to the décor stage, you’re going to need a venue. This issue we explored Hackney & Haringey (page 23), the City & Tower Hamlets (page 31) as well as London’s restaurant scene (page 39) for your reading pleasure.
Real couple Clare and Stu – our cover stars this issue – plumped for all of the above, getting ready in Bethnal Green’s Town Hall Hotel, tying the knot in Hackney Town Hall and celebrating in a restaurant in the City. Food is always a big part of any celebration in the Cassels household – and Christmas is no exception. This year all the more so as I looked into the flavour explosion that’s happened in the wedding cake arena of late – turn to page 81 to see the creative combos that will be hitting cake tables everywhere this coming year. I know, I know – the things I do in the name of research! You can thank me later.
