Hello, lovely readers. I’m ridiculously excited to be taking over the editor reins here at Your London Wedding – what a privilege! It’s a silver lining for me in what has been a tumultuous few months. With that in mind, I am dedicating this edition to all the couples who were meant to be getting married this season. Our thoughts have been with you, and we thank all of you who have shared your stories with us. It’s been inspiring hearing about the amazing wedding suppliers in our city who have pulled out all the stops to ensure couples still get to have their perfect day – albeit not when they expected to.
We’ve got a corker of an issue for you; we meet the talented bakers who create beautiful big-day cakes (page 57), ask top stationers how to navigate postponements (page 61), and we dream of epic honeymoon destinations to bookmark now (page 92).
We have opened up our back catalogue for you to read online for free to keep you entertained and inspired – just head to our website.

Weddings at Queen Mary
Opened by Queen Victoria in 1887, this Grade II listed building was once known as the Albert Hall of East London. Built in Neo- Classical style with columns and a portico, visitors step inside to find an atmospheric space with book-lined walls and busts of eminent authors under a beautiful domed ceiling. Parties can spill outside to enjoy the Queen’s Lawn and its Victorian clocktower, as well as the Regent’s Canal running alongside.
Intimate ceremonies are held in the Senior Common Room (100 guests), an exclusive-use private member’s club. For a more opulent celebration, The Octagon is the perfect choice. The former university library, its domed ceiling reaches three storeys high and the endless books provide a wonderful backdrop for photos.
Soon-to-be-weds will receive a free menu tasting, and the venue has recently launched virtual tours.
