May/June 2021

Looks like we made it! At the time of writing, we’re heading towards the summer of love, and I am ecstatic: sunshine, laughter, friends, family and WEDDINGS are just what we need right now.

I hope all of you who have had to deal with the stress and upset of rearranging your wedding are soon able to have your dream day – goodness knows you deserve it! And I hope that every hug is a little tighter, every dance move is executed with more pizzazz and every moment is full of joy.

As always, we’re bringing you the absolute best of the London wedding industry this issue. Every entertainment company (page 53), bridal designer (page 90), make-up artist (page 87) and venue (page 19) over these pages has had to diversify and show extraordinary resilience during the pandemic, and they can finally get back to doing what they do best: creating the most epic weddings imaginable for you lovely lot!

Enjoy!

Drapers Hall

Found in the heart of the City of London, Drapers’ Hall provides a majestic big-day backdrop, which is steeped in history. On the site of the present Drapers’ Hall, once part of the Augustinian Priory, Thomas Cromwell built his palace in the 1530s. After his execution, the property was purchased by the Guild of Drapers in 1543 from Henry VIII.

The venue boasts magnifi cent and opulent interiors to celebrate in. Couples will also love the garden, which provides a hidden oasis in the city for entertaining up to 180 guests. There’s also The Courtyard (150 guests), an alternative al fresco spot for receptions.

The venue is not licensed for ceremonies, but offers an exquisite setting for receptions. The peaceful and elegant Drawing Room (100 guests) is the perfect place to welcome loved ones for a champagne reception. Richly decorated and visually dramatic, the Court Dining Room (120 guests) can be combined with the Drawing Room for larger gatherings. The venue’s in-house catering and dedicated team will ensure everything runs smoothly, and couples are treated to a free menu tasting.

County Wedding Magazines' editor Hannah Faulder enjoys a much-needed city escape!

"As the country prepared for Lockdown Part II, my husband and I managed to sneak in a last-minute escape to the city to enjoy a much-needed retreat at The Marylebone. Nestled in the hotel's super-trendy namesake neighbourhood, between the Georgian Welbeck Street and the part-pedestrianised Marylebone Lane, you're just a short walk from London's most famous Monopoly locations, from Bond Street to Mayfair.
