November/December 2019

What’s your favourite season? I’m not sure I could possibly choose; from the twinkly lights this time of year is famed for to the scent of lime trees as summer kicks in, there’s always something to celebrate as the year progresses. And that’s exactly why we’ve taken inspiration from the seasons in our styling special this issue. From blank canvas spaces to decadence and decay, we’ve tapped London’s top stylists for tips on dressing every and any venue in seasonal finery.

Talking venues, there’s plenty of choice out there for those just starting their planning journey – that’s what we love about London, whether you’re on the hunt for a cool and contemporary City skyscraper or a historic building brimful of charm, our capital has it all.

Pull up a chair, pour a brew, and happy reading!

Trinity House

Home to the General Lighthouse Authority on Tower Hill, Trinity House’s Georgian façade was designed by Samuel Wyatt in 1794. Particularly popular for intimate weddings, not to mention a showcase for several remarkable maritime artefacts, this historic venue is reminiscent of a grand private residence.

The Court Room lies at the heart of the house, with direct views of The Tower of London. Boasting all the character of a grand drawing room in an aristocratic townhouse of yore, the room’s stand-out features include an original trompe l’oeil painting, impressive carpet and many fine paintings and portraits. There’s room for 60 ceremony guests here, or 130 for an informal reception. The Library, complete with its own minstrel’s gallery and stained-glass windows, meanwhile, is located on the eastern side of the House and seats up to 130 loved ones for civil ceremonies.
