Due to open in 2021, the historic building situated on the banks of the River Thames has cinematic views and exudes character, perfect for celebratory wedding dinners and receptions. Collectively known as Battersea Power House, expect five specialist event spaces, all differing in character and capacity.

First, the original control room built in the 1930s and restored to its original grandeur, Control Room A includes numerous heritage features such as parquet flooring and dials that were once used to power a fifth of London's electricity. The stunning Art Deco interiors are recognisable from the many feature films in which the space has appeared, including The King's Speech and Monty Python's The Meaning of Life. It will have a capacity of 250 guests when fully restored.

The Alternator Hall, meanwhile, can accommodate 500 friends and family for a standing drinks reception and 250 for a seated dinner with views over the main event space, Turbine Hall. Alternator Hall is smaller than its sister venue, Generator Hall, but still retains all the gradeur and versatility.

With spectacular views over the River Thames, stunning backdrops of Battersea Power Station and a standing capacity of 80, the Gilbert Scott Terrace is the perfect place to host an al fresco wedding reception. The lounge area, known as the Switch Room, is a multi-use space that overlooks the more industrial of the two 1950s Turbine Halls. It offers a glimpse into the building's past with a curved bay window, original tiling, exposed brick and river views. The space can cater for 80 loved ones and offers an ideal setting for a more intimate gathering.

Considerably larger than the other spaces, the Generator Hall is an expansive triple height space with a capacity of 1,400 or 1,000 seated guests, ideal for large-scale Asian or Indian weddings. The Generator Foyer likewise has the capacity to accommodate 1,400 people and features exposed brickwork and vistas across the River Thames and Riverfront Park.

A range of bespoke menus is being carefully designed by executive head chef Ronnie Murray, formerly of Hix Restaurants, and his team. Meanwhile sumptuous and unusual cocktails will be created by Camm & Hooper's chief beverage engineer, Patrick Hobbs to reflect the iconic nature of the Art Deco power station and its thriving riverside destination. The Northern Line is being extended to give this new area of London its very own Zone 1 Underground station which will be a few minutes' walk away from the Battersea Power House and is also due to open in 2021 making travel for guests even easier.
