Bizarre wedding traditions: The Eurovision edition
Wedding traditions are dramatically different around the world. From the type of cake served to...
The first wedding anniversary is celebrated with gifts of paper. So what could be more perfect than a paper lampshade specially designed for the occasion?
Papershades offers a range of flat-pack lampshades, which you assemble at home, for a very affordable £25 including postage and packing. A variety of ranges are available: Floral, Nostalgia, Places…. with more being added all the time. This original form of paper lampshade was invented by artist Rosalind Freeborn who wanted to find a different way to use her own paper collage art.
Rosalind also runs workshops at her studio where guests can use a wide range of paper collage to create their own designs which are then printed on the spot. Workshops are relaxed and fun with a group of people gathered round Ros's studio table with the chance to sift through tissue paper, wrapping paper, wallpaper, magazines, packaging and any other kind of paper. Once a single design has been created on a piece of A4 card it is printed onto five panels of special Papershades paper and assembled. Everyone goes home with a fabulous, and totally unique, paper lampshade.
Papershades workshops are perfect for couples wanting to celebrate a year of marriage or for girls organising a different kind of hen party. Ros is very happy to run parties in her studio or to come to your venue. To find out more, visit www.papershades.co.uk
