English Heritage is to host its first ever Wedding Showcase at the historic Ranger's House in Greenwich on Thursday 20th June, 2019. The charity has been hosting weddings at Ranger's House for 10 years, but this will be the first time English Heritage is able to showcase the venue dressed for a wedding.
The magnificent Georgian red-brick villa will throw open its doors for the Showcase on the evening of Thursday 20th June, 2019 from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. Couples can explore the venue and meet suppliers including florists, caterers, photographers and marquee hire companies. English Heritage's experienced Hospitality Team will also be on hand to answer any questions nearlyweds may have about holding their weddings at the house.
Built for a naval officer in the 1720s, the house became the official 'grace and favour' residence of the Rangers of Greenwich Park in 1815. It is now home to The Wernher Collection, a world-class art collection amassed by the 19th-century businessman, Sir Julius Wernher, including Dutch Old Master paintings, Medieval jewellery and Renaissance sculpture. Couples can hold their ceremony in the antique-lined Gallery or celebrate in style with a reception in a marquee on the lawn of the secluded Walled Garden.
