This Easter, London wedding venue Searcys at The Gherkin plays host to a chocolate-lovers extravaganza in partnership with one of the world's most esteemed chocolatiers: William Curley.
The four times winner of 'Britain's Best Chocolatier' by The Academy of Chocolate joins forces with Searcys for a programme of chocolate-themed dinners and tastings events for families and corporate diners alike. William Curley has worked closely with Searcys development chef, Shaun Rowlands to create a unique, chocolate-inspired tasting menu.
The four-course dinner will be available at The Helix restaurant from 1 – 21 April, alongside their seasonal a la carte menu. Savoury dishes pay homage to cocoa's complex and versatile flavour profile, with a cauliflower and Berkshire Blue soup starter topped with cacao nibs, followed by a hearty Rhug Estate venison loin with heritage carrots, spring greens, game chocolate sauce. A pre-dessert of orange and white chocolate granita will cleanse the palate ready for the show-stopping Willy's chocolate mousse, brandy snap, Bailey's cream. Guests will also enjoy one of Curley's chocolate expresso martini cocktails, as well as a selection of chocolates to take home or enjoy with their coffee.
William Curley himself will also be on hand for two very special chocolate masterclasses at The Gherkin on Friday 12 April. The morning session is aimed at families, the perfect opportunity to bring children to the Gherkin during the Easter Holidays. Costing just £12.50 for children and £20 for adults, guests will step into into the fascinating world of chocolate making. William will guide them through every step, starting at the lush tropical forests, home of the cocoa fruit to the transforming process that will turn bean to a bar. Guests will taste different chocolates and each child will decorate their own Easter egg.
On Friday afternoon, a more hands-on event will take place. Ideal for hen parties and private celebrations, guests will learn the skills and evolution behind William Curley's favourite chocolate confection. With the option of staying for a chocolate tasting menu afterwards, this masterclass also includes a chocolate cocktail per person.
William Curley tasting menu tickets are priced at £75; masterclasses with William Curley cost £25 (adult) or £12.50 for a child. The advanced masterclass is priced at £35 and includes a chocolate cocktail.
