CH&CO has unveiled its refurbished event space, The Prince Albert Suite, at ZSL London Zoo.

Inspired by the international conservation charity's ethos, the 300-guest venue, features energy saving lights and natural materials throughout, including carpet recycled from discarded fishing nets.

CH&CO, ZSL London Zoo's hospitality and catering partner of over 10 years, continuously works to minimise its impact on the environment. For example, in-season fruit and vegetables are bought from local suppliers, fish is sourced sustainably, and packaging is compostable.

Simon Maples, ZSL commercial manager said, “We have created a space at ZSL London Zoo which reflects our values and years of expertise. From the energy-saving lights to our flooring made from recycled fishing nets pulled from our oceans by ZSL's Net-Works conservation project, every detail encompasses our ethos. By hosting your event at ZSL London Zoo you are supporting our vision to create a world where wildlife thrives.”

Zahra Al-Shakerchi, head of sales and marketing from CH&CO added: “We're thrilled with the refurbishment of this unique space and how it supports ZSL London Zoo's vision. This event really showcased the Prince Albert Suite and put the talents of our chefs into the spotlight with a bespoke vegetarian and vegan menu created just for the evening. The response from our guests was fantastic and we look forward to creating many more memorable events in this very special location.”

Party-goers enjoyed basil, mango and chilli gin and tonics on arrival and a feast of canapés and bowl food, including sweet potato and walnut kofte, with beetroot hummus, Korean style tofu with pickles and vegetables followed by vegan chocolate and coconut macarons on the dessert stations.

Entertainment from Sternberg Clarke and Full Circle dazzled throughout the night with LED Super Hoopers, Mirror Animal Heads, Funny Faces' face-painters, Ice-Box sculptures and a DJ to keep things fresh. Eco-water company DASH circulated their delicious water made with wonky fruit. ZSL London Zoo's Prince Albert Suite can cater for up to 300 guests and can host a variety of events from gala dinners and conferences to licenced ceremonies and weddings. The Terrace, also used in the showcase, is particularly good for summer events for a maximum of 700 guests. Head to venuehire.zsl.org to find out more.
