Wedding stationery designer Ananya launches Colour Infusion

Wedding stationery designer Ananya has unveiled its newest collection called 'Colour Infusion' to showcase the beauty of the marigold flower and its symbolic significance at weddings and events. This collection with its original combination of bright marigolds on one side and brush stroke pattern in gold on the reverse, is distinctive and beautiful; ideal for the 2019 Spring/Summer wedding season.

The entire marigold design, including the leaves and lines, was hand drawn, and the final product was hand-printed using a screen printing process. Couples can choose between four different jewel tones (pink, orange, yellow and teal) for the background.

The marigold flower has a long history of symbolism in several cultures, both in the East and West, primarily due its lively colours echoing the beauty, warmth, and life-giving power of the rising sun. In India, sometimes known as the flower of the soul, the marigold is a stable in celebrations large and small especially in weddings as love charms, representing passion and auspiciousness. The colour of saffron, marigolds are considered sacred and pure, and are offered to honour gods and goddesses. "We wanted this new design to be an evocative and modern nod to our Indian heritage," commented Vaishali Shah at Ananya. "In Eastern culture, wedding invitations to close family members and friends are traditionally sent with an item of food, such as dry fruits, almonds, cashews and dates; but at Ananya, our aim has always been to give traditions a contemporary twist and 21st-century appeal. And so was born the idea of this specially commissioned chocolate bar.
