Plan the ultimate party with Ace Hotel London Shoreditch and Knot & Pop

This September, Ace Hotel London Shoreditch will bring The Rooftop to life with A Thoroughly Modern Marriage, an experiential event created in partnership with London-based wedding planners Knot & Pop.

Playing host to the best and most-exciting talent from the local Hackney community and beyond, brides-and grooms-to-be can expect to be wowed by floral installations from Worm London, new bridal creations from Halfpenny London and dazzling production from Wise London. There will also be a host of interactive activity including make-up consultations from Space NK, a roaming artist from The House of Love capturing the event, a panel discussion on the concepts of ‘Love & Marriage’ chaired by Project Love and tunes from Xavior’s String Quartet.

Taking place on 21st September from 4pm, the event will encompass all of the spaces on the hotel’s seventh floor Rooftop, including its huge outdoor terrace with panoramic views of London. Guests will experience each space brought to life by the talents of the makers taking part, from the ceremony room decked out with flowers by Worm London and a balloon installation from BonBon Balloons, to the dining room where there will be the chance to sit down and sample food from the hotel’s inhouse team, in a setting styled by Knot & Pop with breath-taking tableware from Helene Millot.

Focusing on what matters most about weddings, the panel discussion will be chaired by Selina Barker and Vicki Pavitt, co-founders of Project Love, the go-to platform for people seeking heartfelt, practical guidance on love and life. It will centre on the topic of ‘Love & Marriage’, with three couples at different stages in their lives talking about marriage and love, as it evolves and grows after the wedding day.

As preparation is key to the big day, there will also be a selection of talented suppliers on hand to provide advice and inspiration for every aspect, from wedding rings to honeymoon dressing. Susie Young, founder of Knot & Pop, will also be hosting a Consultation Couch, to provide in-depth wedding planning advice.

To round the night off, guests can dance to tunes played by a selection of top notch DJs from Wedding Smashers, whilst enjoying a G&T from the terrace gin bar and taking in the stunning panoramic sunset views.
