Online local services marketplace Bidvine.com quizzed its 1,400 wedding DJs to find the best tunes to get your wedding guests on the dancefloor.
Top of the pops was The Jackson 5's I Want You Back with Queen's Don't Stop Me Now second and the noughties' classic Mr. Brightside by The Killers in third place.
Bidvine.com also asked its wedding DJs to name and shame the worst wedding request songs they'd ever received. Responses included Gold Digger by Kanye West, Another One Bites The Dust by Queen, Killing In The Name by Rage Against the Machine and You've Lost That Loving Feeling by The Righteous Brothers.
Russ Morgan, co-founder at Bidvine.com said, “Choosing the wedding music appears to be a real worry for brides and grooms. After all most weddings have a variety of guests, ranging from grandparents to young kids, so it's hard to pick tunes that will appeal to everyone. From what our DJs have said, a good mix of artists from different decades is key, along with family-friendly, well-known songs to get people up and moving.
“The worst requests really made us chuckle and when you think of the lyrics you realise why they're inappropriate! Hopefully engaged couples will find our lists and guide helpful and will make planning their wedding a little less stressful!”
The top ten floor-fillers were:
1. Jackson 5 – I Want You Back
2. Queen – Don't Stop Me Now
3. The Killers – Mr Brightside
4. The Fratellis – Chelsea Dagger
5. Michael Jackson – Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough
6. Five – Everybody Get Up
7. Junkie XL & Elvis Presley – A Little Less Conversation
8. Pharrell Williams – Happy
9. Bruno Mars – Uptown Funk
10. David Bowie – Let's Dance
