As I type, we’re on the brink of a new decade and there’s something so promising about the year 2020 that, despite all the political hoo-hah (let us not utter the ‘B’ word here in wedding land), I can’t help but fizz with excitement about the big-day looks we’ll see this year. From the new fashion to the styling trends to come, there’s one word that seems to underlie it all, and that’s ‘sustainable’ – and we’re utterly here for that. As the team at Hammersmith & Fulham’s Clockwork Building prove in the shoot featured on page 83, eco-friendly can be gasp inducingly pretty.
Talking shoots, have we got some corkers for you in our ‘looking your best’ special on page 65, while our real weddings section (page 44) is bursting with W-day inspiration.

Grove House
This magnificent Grade II* listed Georgian mansion house stands in four acres of stunning gardens, complete with lawn, rose gardens and picturesque lake, which belie its London location.
Ceremonies can be held in the Portrait Room, which seats 150 guests, or The Terrace Room, which as its name suggests, backs onto the beautiful gardens overlooking the lake and pretty wisteria walk. There’s room for some 60 nearest and dearest to witness your vows here. Receptions can be held across the house’s three spectacular main rooms with original features galore, including grand fireplaces, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and original wooden floors – there’s space for a total of 150 friends and family for dinner, and 50 more loved ones as evening falls and the versatile Adam Room provides a fabulous addition to the main events spaces for a photo booth or lounge area.
