November/December 2020

As we move towards the end of 2020, and start looking forward to next year, I’m so excited for the 2021 weddings I’m attending, as well as the postponed events I have from last year. Being a wedding editor, it probably comes as no surprise that weddings absolutely fill me with joy, so seeing friends and family having to put a halt to celebrations was hard – but it does mean we get a bumper 2021 season!

Whether you’ve had to postpone or you’ve always planned to get married this year or beyond, these pages are jam-packed with inspiration to get your day exactly how you want it. In recent months we’ve all come to realise that celebrations with our loved ones are precious, and it’s with renewed love for life that we look forward to this happening again.

With the colder days, it’s time to get snuggled up on the sofa with a cuppa and your favourite wedding magazine (ahem!) and get planning the day of your dreams. We’ve got beautiful blooms in every colour (page 51), drop-dead gorgeous real London weddings to inspire you (page 32) and a round up of the best of the capital’s venues (page 15). Enjoy!

The Old Finsbury Town Hall

This recently renovated landmark Grade II listed building exudes Art Nouveau elegance, from the glass and wrought iron canopy outside to the theatrical sweeping staircase. Stained glass and a majestic Ballroom with glittering chandeliers offer real wow factor.

Ceremonies for up to 30 seated loved ones (40 standing) can take place within the Wedding Room, where the mahogany panelled walls and luxurious red carpet add plenty of glamour. The Great Hall is ideal for receptions of up to 200 seated friends and family. Smaller parties can be accommodated in the Council Chamber, which seats 60 diners under its magnificent domed ceiling or, connected to the Great Hall by two staircases, it can also work well as a break-out room.
